The ATRIDOX® polymer is composed of poly-DL-lactide (PLA) and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP). PLA is a pliable substance which is used in other product applications such as dissolvable sutures. PLA is not soluble in water, so the solvent, NMP, is included in the polymer formulation to maintain PLA in a flowable, liquid state.
