ATRIDOX in Immunocompromised Patients with Periodontal DiseaseQuestion
Can ATRIDOX be used in immunocompromised patients (those with diabetes, HIV infection, or those receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy)?Answer
According to the prescribing information, ATRIDOX® has not been clinically tested in immunocompromised patients. These patients are at increased risk for overgrowth of opportunistic microorganisms not susceptible to antimicrobial therapy including fungi. Therefore, immunocompromised patients receiving Atridox gum disease therapy should be closely monitored. | |
